Ted and his wife Kimberly Ross live in North Carolina and Karen Lile lives in the SF Bay Area of California.
The long distance doesn't stop us from continuing with our plans for Foxtantino. Ted and I are preparing the syllabus so that we can film instructional videos for teachers for Foxtantino in 2008.
Last October 2007, we completed our Bronze through Gold Syllabus for Foxtantino. And we danced Foxtantino for the TV cameras. We plan to release the dance video when our instructional videos are completed.
We have been receiving requests from ballrooms and teachers across the United States who want to learn this dance so they can teach it to their students. We are preparing the materials that will help a ballrooms introduce this dance to their students successfully. We want dancers to have the opportunity to find people who know this dance anywhere they go in the US.
We owe a big thanks to Just Dance Ballroom, its owners and students for giving us the space and a friendly and supportive environment to create this dance in. Just Dance Ballroom is now a permanent part of Foxtantino History as the place where we spent most of our time creating the Foxtantino.
We also appreciate the students in our pilot class Spring of 2007, who showed us that it is easy for ballroom students to learn this dance and that they like it too. You inspired us to continue on with the journey. Thank you so much.
We performed Foxtantino for the public on September 29th, 2007 at the Love is in the Air Professional Show and Fundraiser.
Foxtantino: The Dance
Foxtantino is a new fusion dance that connects the Ballroom American and International styles of Foxtrot to Argentine Tango. This dance was designed specifically for the Ballroom community. It uses the teaching methods, technique and language of the ballroom dances so Foxtantino is easy for Ballroom dancers to learn and dance with each other. Ballroom dancers are intrigued and fascinated with Argentine Tango, but, many do not want to give up their dance frame, their Ballroom culture and/or acquire new music appreciation skills and fully enter into the Argentine Tango community. Foxtantino provides Ballroom dancers the fun and excitement of Argentine Tango while keeping to the style of dancing with which they are familiar. For more information about Foxtantino, click here
